   FIG TREE

Fig Tree - Israel/Ethiopia - 2018 - 93 min.

Based on childhood memories of Ethiopia, Mina, a 16 -year old Jewish girl living in Addis Ababa in 1989, does not remember a time when there was no Civil War. She was raised with Eli, a Christian boy, who she loves, and has been hiding in the woods for fear of being drafted. When Mina's grandmother and brother make plans to emigrate to Israel, Mina hatches a scheme to save Eli, but everyone and everything seems set against her.

"Fig Tree is beautiful, romantic and cinematic, as well as historically interesting."

- Hannah Brown, Jerusalem Post

"Masterful cinematography  and a sterling cast help recreate childhood memories. So with an unforgettable finale and all that has come before, one can only pray that Fig Tree gains the international attention it richly deserves."

- Brandon Judell, Huffington Post
